What Can You Do At Fraser

Fraser Island

Fraser Island

The largest sand island in the world stretching 123km long and 25km wide and covering 184,000 hectares. Fraser Island is world heritage listed due to its diverse & unique landscape of sand, lush rainforests, magnificent fresh water lakes and amazing sand blows.

Whale Watching

Whale Watching

Hervey Bay is known as the whale watching capital of the world. It is just 10 minutes from Fraser Coast RV Park. Due to its sheltered location, Hervey Bay is the best place on Australia’s east coast to meet the mighty humpback whales. There are plenty of good operators and tour bookings can be made at the office. During the off season Nov-June there are a couple of tours to Fraser Island and Sunset cruises

Fishing Hervey Bay

Fishing

The largest sand island in the world stretching 123km long and 25km wide and covering 184,000 hectare. The great Sandy Strait at River Heads offers a maze of sandbanks, estuaries and reefs providing a huge variety of fish species to target, some of which are found in both fresh and salt water. Coral trout, bream, whiting, flathead, mackerel, tailor and mangrove jack are some of the most popular catches. This is the most southern part of Australia where you can land a Barramundi.
