Just 4 Kids

For more than 20 years, Just 4 Kids Children’s Charity has been quietly assisting the children of Queensland and beyond.

From medical equipment for disabled children, to providing sport, health and well-being mentoring programs in far north Queensland, western Queensland and the south-east corner, to funding for a skate park in Cooktown and assisting with school supplies for families, Just 4 Kids has been there.

In 2024, Just 4 Kids narrowed their focus to its Paediatric Dental Program, which provides funding for essential dental treatment that children need through a paediatric dental specialist that parents can’t afford alone. This is a very niche area to focus on but also a very necessary one.

Dr Tim Keys, owner and principle dental specialist at Children’s Dental Centre, Minyama is well versed with the assistance Just 4 Kids offers families.

By funding urgent paediatric dental treatments, they’ve provided critical care for children who otherwise might not have access to it.

We’ve seen first-hand how their support transforms smiles and changes lives, and we are deeply grateful for the invaluable help they offer to families in need.”

Since its inception, the Paediatric Dental Program has assisted over 35 children and therefore relieved the mental and financial stress of 35 families, to the value over of $51 000.

Mother of 2.5year old Shahrzad, Emilie C commented “It was an enormous financial stress we had not anticipated. I don’t know how we could have been able to afford it (dental treatment) without Just 4 Kids’ help. I know she will not have her baby teeth forever but the impact and benefits of her having these teeth now, healthy and functioning properly until her adult teeth come in does last a lifetime.”

While 90% of their young patients have come from Queensland (from Airlie Beach south and west to Monto and Toowoomba), as the only charity in Australia with this focus, Just 4 Kids as been approached and assisted patients in Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.

As a registered charity with DGR status, 100% of donations made to Just 4 Kids go to the dental program.  Administration costs of the charity are covered by the numerous Bunnings sausage sizzles they host so you can be guaranteed that your donation will be helping to make a young person smile again.
